It's estimated that 3 of Christchurch's 17 sub post offices could close as a result of the Government's plans. In 1997 there were 20 sub post offices in this area.

Chris Chope thanks Christchurch's posties

Chris Chope MP visited Royal Mail's Christchurch delivery office last Friday to see for himself how successful postmen and women in the area have been in delivering this Christmas.

The MP toured the delivery office to see how we deal with festive mail and chatted to hardworking staff who make sure they ensure a first class Christmas for Christchurch residents.

Mr Chope made an early start in order to meet Martin Clothier, Delivery Office Manager, and some of the 76 postmen and women, who are responsible for ensuring that Christchurch’s massive Christmas mailbag is delivered to over 25,000 addresses at Royal Mail’s busiest time of year..
